While partly cloudy skies are the most threatening weather forecast for Monday’s Labor Day holiday, meteorologists are watching a monster in the Atlantic Ocean.

Hurricane Irma is already a category 4 storm and while its path is uncertain, there is a chance it could hit the eastern United States, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Comfortable temperatures — for summer — continue with Monday’s high reaching 87 degrees.

Currently, the temperature in Atlanta is 85 degrees.

Afternoon storms are possible Tuesday and rain chances increase to 60 percent on Wednesday, acording to Channel 2.
