Northside of metro Atlanta getting its version of the Beltline

PATH 400 trail under construction

Georgia is one of only two states without a statewide trail organization, but all that is changing fast. There's a new impetus behind building a coalition from the many different groups who use trails for equestrian activities, mountain-biking, bicycling and walking and joining forces to complete a statewide trail network. After the second annual Georgia Trail Summit was held in Athens last month, this group decided to pursue incorporation into a nonprofit. HYOSUB SHIN / HSHIN@AJC.COM

The northside of metro Atlanta is beginning to see progress on its version of the hyper popular BeltLine trail. The PATH 400 trail will run from Buckhead to the Dunwoody area when finished, and you can see from the photo above that parts of it are already open.

And the final link on the trail will connect it to the BeltLine.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has put together photos and an interactive map of the trail, and tells you when parts of it will be open.

You can read more about the PATH 400 Trail, see photos and the map here.
