Henry County Schools is holding a series of meetings to get public feedback on its long-range strategic plan, including a gathering at 6 p.m. Thursday at Stockbridge High School.
The district is seeking feedback on its direction as it enters a new decade amid rapid population growth and improving test scores. The meetings are being held across the district to give every resident an opportunity to attend, the school system said.
“The development of our district’s strategic plan is the last component for our board as it relates to their pursuit of becoming a high-performing board of education, Superintendent Mary Elizabeth Davis said in a statement.
“I personally encourage families and community members to participate in this Community Voice campaign,” she said. “Continuous growth and planning for Henry County Schools requires continuous community engagement.”
The long-range planning meetings follow other public gatherings the district has used to get input from Henry residents on public safety and budgeting.
"Our board has made some great strides to get to this point in our district's growth and development," said Josh Hinton, chairman of the school board. "We have had many successes as a district over the past year and a half, and this is just the next step to get extensive community feedback around the incredibly bright future of our students, staff, and community as a whole."
Other meeting dates: 6 p.m. Feb. 10 at the district’s office and 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at Ola High School.
