It's been more than two weeks since Gwinnett County police say a 35-year-old Snellville man was stabbed 17 times outside a local nightclub.

His alleged assailant is still wanted.

According to police, 20-year-old Viet Dam and the victim got into a fight around 3 a.m. Oct. 9 outside "Paradise Karaoke" on Pleasant Hill Road. The two men knew each other "due to a previous relationship connection with a woman," Gwinnett police Cpl. Deon Washington said, but what triggered the dispute remains unclear.

"At some point, they walked out of the back door of the establishment and began fighting in the parking lot," Washington said in a news release. "During the fight, the victim was stabbed multiple times. He did not realize that he had been stabbed until the two separated."

Channel 2's Tony Thomas has exclusive video of the fight that nearly killed the man

A surveillance camera captured the fight. Video released by police shows the man identified as Viet Dam and the victim briefly exchanging punches.

The victim survived and has since been released from the hospital, Washington said.

Police described the suspect as a Chamblee resident, but his whereabouts are unknown.
