The Georgia Department of Transportation and Gwinnett County have partnered to conduct a comprehensive corridor study along I-85 between I-285 and I-985.

The I-85 Corridor Study area is roughly 18 miles long and primarily located in Gwinnett, with a small portion in DeKalb County. The study will look at I-85 from I-285/Spaghetti Junction (Exit 95 on I-85 and Exit 33 on I-285) to I-985 (Exit 113). The study hopes to result in recommendations to improve safety, reduce congestion and enhance traffic operations.

GDOT and Gwinnett are inviting the public to provide input on future improvements at public open house sessions as well as community events. Public Open House Sessions:

• 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 4 at Best Friend Park, 6224 Jimmy Carter Blvd. in Norcross

• 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 8 at George Pierce Park, 55 Buford Highway NE in Suwanee

• 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 11 at Lilburn Activity Building, 788 Hillcrest Road in Lilburn

In addition, the public can participate in an online survey at 85Study.com.
