A public information open house to introduce new electronic voting equipment is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at the Forsyth County Voter Registrations and Elections Office in Cumming.

Voter registration and elections staff will be on hand at the event, 1201 Sawnee Drive, to demonstrate the equipment and answer questions.

New this year: Voters will get a printed ballot to review prior to casting their vote. “We wanted to give residents a chance to see the equipment and understand this new process before heading to the polls,” said Mandi Smith, Forsyth elections director.

Monday also is the last day Forsyth residents can register to vote for the March 24 presidential preference primary election. Also for this election, the county said it will take absentee ballot applications through March 20.

Applications can be downloaded from forsythco.com, filled out, signed and submitted by email to voter@forsythco.com; faxed to 770-886-2825, or mailed or walked to Forsyth County Voter Registrations and Elections, 1201 Sawnee Drive, Cumming GA 30040.
