A longtime Savannah candy store will bring its popular spin on sweet treats to Cobb County.

River Street Sweets • Savannah’s Candy Kitchen will open at The Battery Atlanta, the company said in a press release. A grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at 455 Legends Place in Atlanta.

The Cobb location will have the same treats guests visiting the Savannah location have come to love since the shop opened in 1973, including its famous Pralines, homemade ice cream and gelato and handmade chocolate loggerheads.

The store will be run by franchisees, Jamie Wright of East Cobb and Doug Hicks of Milton.

“We looked at several potential locations in Atlanta, and it is obvious that none of them compare to The Battery Atlanta,” Hicks said. “The product, the location and the people on the team were a perfect fit for us.”

River Street Sweets • Savannah's Candy Kitchen has smaller locations at The Mall of Georgia and Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
