"This elite designation demonstrates our hospital and radiology department's dedication to quality, safety and engagement," Howard Fleishon, EJCH's chief of radiology services, said in a university news release.

The Johns Creek facility, staffed with board-certified radiologists and technologists, performs more than 75,000 radiology exams and procedures annually.

The American College of Radiology’s DICOE accreditation is considered the “pinnacle of medical imaging care” earned only by demonstrating high quality imaging practices and diagnostic care.

In addition to multiple accreditation criteria, the recognition required a thorough assessment from ACR’s survey team, made up of a radiologist, medical physicist and technologist, which examined the facility’s quality, safety procedures and personnel.
