A Douglasville man with a church group died after being pulled from a Tennessee lake, authorities said.

Jesus Antonio Castro, 37, appeared to have trouble swimming at Parksville Lake and disappeared under the surface Saturday afternoon, witnesses told Chattanooga ABC affiliate WTVC. Parksville Lake is east of Chattanooga and about 114 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.

People looked for Castro for about 25 minutes with no success, the news station reported. Sheriff’s deputies arrived about 3:45 p.m. and his body was recovered near Mac Point Beach.

Castro later died at a hospital in Cleveland, Tenn.
