Daytime closures of the northbound and southbound lanes of Ga. 400 near Cumming are scheduled in the coming days at the Pilgrim Mill Road overpass, Forsyth County announced.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, closures are set for the two left lanes of southbound Ga. 400, and the same hours Wednesday for one right lane southbound; and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, for two left lanes of northbound Ga. 400, and the same hours Friday for one right lane northbound.
“These closures are all weather dependent, so there may some fluctuation,” Forsyth said. “Updates will be posted on the county Facebook and Twitter pages as necessary.”
The bridge work, now nearing completion, is part of a larger project to widen a roughly 1.7-mile stretch of Pilgrim Mill from Aquatic Circle to Holtzclaw Road. The overpass is to be widened from three lanes to seven, with dual left-turn lanes to southbound Ga. 400 and a single left-turn lane to northbound Ga. 400, according to a Forsyth road projects website.
