Starting Monday, Cobb County School District students will have a new schedule for digital learning during the coronavirus pandemic.

Digital learning for all Cobb students will occur Monday through Thursday for the rest of the school year, the district said Friday. The school year is set to end on May 20.

Students will not be given any new assignments on Fridays, Cobb schools added, because Fridays will be reserved for students to review their academic progress and to catch up on missed assignments.

The school system has been closed since March 16 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The district implemented its digital learning efforts so students can stay on top of their lessons while sheltering at home.

Cobb teachers will monitor the progress of their students and prepare lesson plans based on what they need to learn, according to a release from the district.

Teachers will use Fridays to check in on their students’ progress, set up virtual office hours and “adjust content for the following week based on student needs,” the school system added.
