Officials Tuesday identified the body of the 35-year-old man recovered Monday at Lake Lanier.

The body of Quincy Larae Finch of Gainesville was recovered about 6:34 p.m. in the area of Dawsonville Highway Bridge, Hall County sheriff’s spokesman Stephen Wilbanks said.

The Hall County dive team was called shortly after 3 p.m. about a possible drowning at the Gainesville Marina, Hall County fire spokesman Zachary Brackett said.

About 5 p.m., officials told Channel 2 Action News they considered the search a “recovery mission,” Wilbanks said.

“The victim was located in 16 feet of water, approximately 40 yards from the shoreline,” Wilbanks said later Monday.
