The boil-water advisory that was issued Thursday by the City of Atlanta has been lifted for all areas, a city spokeswoman said Saturday morning.

The announcement includes the Mechanicsville neighborhood and the Campbellton-Fairburn Road areas, spokeswoman Rukiya Campbell said.

“Additional samples taken in these two isolated areas confirmed there was no contamination of the public water system,” Campbell said.

Water can be used for all purposes without boiling, according to the announcement. Officials have notified the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.

A power outage at the Hemphill High Service Pump Station triggered a temporary loss of pressure in portions of the drinking-water system served by Hemphill Water Treatment Plant, the city Department of Watershed Management said in implementing the advisory. The system was restored to normal operations in about 40 minutes.

The advisory was put in place as a “precautionary measure for consumption,” officials said.
