Gwinnett County Police are searching for a man who allegedly broke into a gas station and stole thousands of cigarettes and $1,000 cash.

The incident occurred on early on the morning of March 30 at a Shell station on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. The suspect damaged the Norcross business’ security cameras before forcing the front door open with a pry bar, according to police. Once inside, he took cash and 136 cartons of cigarettes. A normal carton has about 200 cigarettes, meaning the suspect got away with more than 27,000 cigarettes.

The suspect was described as a black man of “average height and build.” He was wearing all black at the time of the burglary. Two vehicles were seen driving in the gas station’s parking lot during the time of the break-in, and police believe they may be connected. One was a dark green sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Cruze, with “factory features” and a concealed tag. The other was a white Chevrolet or GMC extended cab pickup truck with a black bed cover, silver rims and “after-market features.”

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Gwinnett County detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Crime Stoppers tips may be rewarded with up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest or indictment.
