By Janel Davis
Feb 24, 2014More than 1,000 participants helped raise more than $500,000 for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta during a recent dance marathon at the University of Georgia.
The 24-hour event, held this year Feb. 22-23 in the Tate Student Center, has served for 18 years as the annual culminating fundraiser for the student-run philanthropic group, UGA Miracle. The 24 hours feature concerts, special guests, competitions, food and opportunities for students to interact with current and former Children’s Healthcare patients.
The amount raised this year exceeded a $415,000 goal set by student leaders.
