Some educators question whether uncertified teachers affect success

Metro Atlanta school districts hired about 100 uncertified teachers so far this school year.

District officials have said the teachers, on certification waivers, come from varying backgrounds, with many having experience that should be beneficial to students.

Others contend the teachers are underprepared to handle the teaching role, are more likely to leave school districts and set a bad example for students.
