The search for the next Marietta school superintendent has started.
The Board of Education of the city of Marietta kicked off its national search for the new Marietta City Schools superintendent, the agency said on its website. The board will accept applications through Oct. 9.
Emily Lembeck announced her retirement from the position in August. She served 12 years in the role. Her last day is Dec. 31.
The school board asked the Georgia School Board Association to help with the search. You can find information, along with a link to the online application, is available on the GSBA website.
But the school system has asked for your help, too: Send an email to your respective school board member telling them what you're looking for in a superintendent.
