Fulton County schools officials are monitoring the weather forecast calling for potential snow flurries in metro Atlanta and don’t have plans to release students early, so far.

Based upon “our on-going analysis and updates retrieved through the National Weather Service, we do not anticipate a need to make a recommendation of an early school closing today,” according to a released statement from the school system.

“As we progress throughout the evening hours, we will continue to monitor and make appropriate recommendations as needed based upon any potential threats to student safety. If student safety becomes a concern, the district will implement appropriate protocols.”

While it won't exactly make for good sledding, snow is expected to fall Monday in metro Atlanta, according to Channel 2 Action News. It won't amount to much more than a dusting in the northern suburbs though. The north Georgia mountains, however, could get at least one inch and up to two inches.
