Local organizations are joining forces for the third time to boost parents and students ahead of the new school year.
According to DeKalb County Schools officials, the DeKalb NAACP and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. are hosting the Third Annual School Bootcamp and Parent Rally to empower parents to take control of their children’s education. Information will be passed on to students to help them have a successful year, too.
The rally will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. at Lithonia High School, 2440 Phillips Road in Lithonia.
Steve Green, the district’s new superintendent, is scheduled to be on hand for the events.
