The Cobb County school system recently hosted two hiring fairs to fill more than 500 positions expected for next school year.

The first event was March 28 at Hillgrove High School and drew close to 1,000 candidates for elementary school job openings, according to the school system.

The second event was March 30 at Kennesaw Mountain High School for middle and high school positions, with close to 800 candidates attending.

School officials say positions are still open and those interested should checkout the district's website.

The school district is the largest employer in Cobb County with more than 15,000 employees. The second-largest school system in Georgia, Cobb has nearly 112,000 students.
