Like every school across the country, Buford City Schools wants to ensure quality learning isn’t interrupted when teachers need to take time off. So the district is offering substitute teacher training 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 at Buford City Schools office, 2625 Sawnee Ave, Buford.

All substitutes have to pass a background check that includes fingerprinting.

Substitutes are called for assignments, but the school district is currently in the process of moving to an electronic alert system.

Pay is based on the individual’s level of education.
