Atlanta Public Schools and five other school districts across the state are being praised for having all of their high schools organized with a Go Build Georgia team, designed to educate students about skilled trades.

Gov. Nathan Deal’s Office of Workforce Development said that since the program began a year ago, 196 Go Build Georgia High School Teams have been put in Georgia public schools.

The teams are meant to link students, parents and businesses to promote job opportunities for positions in manufacturing, energy, telecommunications and transportation.

School systems in Atlanta, Bartow County, Douglas County, Oconee County, Griffin-Spalding County and Savannah-Chatham County received the state’s recognition.
