Atlanta officials to discuss school budget

Some Atlanta school leaders are scheduled to attend a community meeting Thursday where they will explain how the school district puts together its budget and other financial matters.

The meeting will be at the Parents As Partners Academic Center, 225 James P. Brawley Dr., N.W. at 10 a.m. It’s being organized by the Southwest and Northwest Atlanta Parents and Partners for Schools.

Speakers from the school district include interim chief financial officer Nada Sohrab, chief academic officer Carlton Jenkins, chief human resources officer Pamela Hall and school board member Matt Westmoreland.

The meeting is free to the public.
