APS names three finalists for teacher of the year

Atlanta Public Schools announced three teachers who are finalists for the district-wide Teacher of the Year.

The 2017-2018 Districtwide Teacher of the Year finalists represent elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the Atlanta system.

The teachers are nominated by their schools and will be recognized during an Oct. 25 award ceremony.

The finalists are:

Jennifer Lockwood, a 13 year veteran and a third grade teacher at Springdale Park Elementary.
