Atlanta school superintendent Meria Carstarphen is the second most powerful woman in Atlanta—at least according to Atlanta Magazine

Carstarphen, who started work last spring, came in at number 26 on the magazine's list of the most powerful people in the city, behind Mayor Kasim Reed (No. 2) and her Gwinnett County counterpart, Superintendent Alvin Wilbanks (No. 19).

The only Atlanta woman with more juice than Carstarphen, Atlanta Magazine says, is Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta President Alicia Philipp (No. 9).
