Two people were injured and a dog was killed Thursday in a Lawrenceville house fire.

Gwinnett fire officials said the fire in the 1400 block of Daniel Lane was reported about 10:35 a.m. Two people were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with burns to their bodies, according to Lt. Colin S. Rhoden, spokesman for Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services. The dog was found on the scene by firefighters.

It took about 25 minutes for firefighters to get the blaze under control.

The home was heavily damaged and an investigation into the incident determined the fire started in the attic of the home, near a light fixture, Rhoden said.
