Three members of a Middle Georgia family were killed early Friday in a house fire.

Macon-Bibb County Fire Department units responded to the scene at the corner of Mildred Court and Mildred Drive in east Macon, according to The Macon Telegraph.

Chief Marvin Riggins told The Telegraph the family woke up to the fire on Mildred Court and someone inside the house called 911 about 3 a.m.

The call was lost. When firefighters arrived, they found Louise Howard, 77; her son, Calvin Howard, 29; and her cousin, Jessie Bivins, 81, unconscious inside the house.

Crews tried CPR but could not save them.

The house had heavy damage on the left side, The Telegraph reported.

It is unclear what started the fire.
