One Gwinnett County road — Ronald Reagan Parkway — remains closed until further notice as of 12:45 p.m. Thursday.

Most other major county roads appear relatively clear of snow and slush, but many other roads in the county are still covered. County officials ask that people stay off the roads if possible.

Treating

The county’s transportation department continues to focus on making sure major county roads, major intersections and hospital, fire station and police facility entrances and exits are clear. Crews are out treating or retreating areas as necessary.

Sinkhole

FOX 5 reports that a sinkhole about 10 by 15 feet has appeared near the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth. The station reports the sinkhole does not appear to be weather-related but instead “just bad timing.”

Schools

Contrary to false reports circulating on Twitter, Gwinnett County Public Schools have not made a decision about closing Friday.

Valentine’s Day Ceremonies

County officials are monitoring the weather to determine whether county courts will hold free Valentine’s Day wedding ceremonies on Friday as scheduled.

Call Center

Gwinnett County has opened a non-emergency call center for all storm-related issues. If you have a non-emergency issue related to the weather, call (770) 513-5600.
