A 17-year-old died after being shot in the parking lot following a football game at Langston Hughes High School Friday night, according to Channel 2 Action News.

According to Fulton County schools, the teen was shot in a parking lot about 10 p.m.. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where he died from his injuries, the station reported.

The medical examiner identified the teen as Kristofer Hunter, of College Park. The school system says he was not a student at Langston Hughes. Hunter was pronounced dead around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Fulton County police say they are assisting school police and the GBI with the investigation.
