Whether you’re staying inside on the day after Thanksgiving or rushing out for Black Friday plans, you’re going to enjoy the weather in the forecast.

Sunshine is expected to bring above-average temperatures into metro Atlanta late Friday morning and keep them around into the evening, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon.

“Once the sun comes up, we’ll have plenty of it,” she said.

If your plans for the day include a morning jog for the annual AJC Peachtree Road Race, you’ll want to bundle up, Deon said.

“We are certainly going to be dealing with a morning where you’ll need a few extra layers,” she said.

The morning is off to a chilly start in metro Atlanta with most areas in the low 40s. Some areas in the North Georgia mountains are receiving light rain, according to Deon.

However, you won’t need your jacket for long.

“We’re going to warm up nicely,” Deon said.

Sunshine and clear skies will push temperatures into the mid-60s by noon and to nearly 70 degrees by 2 p.m. Conditions will be dry for the better part of the day, Deon said.

That’s good news for anyone trying to take advantage of Black Friday sales in stores.

Temperatures will start to drop back down by 8 p.m., and the evening could bring some passing showers.

Heavier rain returns to metro Atlanta just in time for the weekend as temperatures drop into the 60s on Saturday and Sunday.
