A fight that started between two groups of men at a night club ended with shots being fired early Sunday morning at a Chamblee gas station, according to police.

No one was hurt, but Chamblee police were questioning eight people who may have been involved in the incident, which took place at the parking lot of a Quik Trip gas station on Buford Highway.

An off-duty DeKalb County sheriff’s deputy inside the gas station around 4 a.m. heard the shots outside.

When he went outside he saw a BMW and a Dodge speeding away, said Chamblee police spokesman Capt. Ernesto Ford. Chamblee police officers pulled over the vehicles and found two AR-15s and a Glock rifle, Ford said.

“The seriousness of it is the type of weapons that were used. These are assault rifles in a congested area, highly populated area. That’s a big concern of ours,” Ford told Channel 2.

Ford told Channel 2 that police swabbed the hands of the eight people who may have been involved in the incident for gunpowder residue.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been asked to review the swabs to help police determine who fired the shots before any arrests are made.
