Authorities are searching for a driver who struck a pedestrian near a Gainesville intersection Saturday night and left the scene.

According to police, Christy Ramsey, 49, of Toccoa, was killed about 7:30 p.m. on Athens Street after being struck by two vehicles near the intersection of Athens Highway.

One of the drivers remained at the scene but the other took off, Gainesville police spokeswoman Cpl. Jessica Van told AJC.com.

“We are asking the public to come forward with any information that may assist us in this case,” she said, adding that the vehicle would likely have “noticeable damage” to its front end.

Road Closed: Athens Street at Athens Hwy (129) closed for crash investigation. Pedestrian was struck and killed. Anyone with information please call 911.
