An investigation continues into a two-vehicle crash that killed a Griffin High School senior, authorities said.

Mark Dylan Bryant was driving a 2003 Honda Civic with passengers Devin Malachi Vickers and Coleman Shurley when they wrecked Sept. 27 in Henry County, police said. Vickers, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bryant, 19, was found to be at fault for the collision and “charges may be pending,” Henry County Police Department spokesman Sgt. Anthony Militello said in an emailed statement to AJC.com.

Vickers, who worked at Chick-fil-A, loved to listen to music and dance, according to his obituary. The store where he worked paid tribute to him after his death.

Family and friends gathered for the teenager’s funeral Oct. 2 at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.

“Devin never met a stranger and always had a smile for anyone he met,” his obit read.

Please be in prayer for the Vickers family and our Chick-fil-A Griffin team in our loss of Devin! Thank you to our community for your support during this difficult time! #ghs #cfagriffin #ingriffin

The crash occurred when Bryant was crossing over U.S. 41 from Franklin Rivers Road to Little Road and failed to yield to a 2017 Ford Fiesta at about 1:15 a.m., according to the police report. As a result, the Fiesta struck the passenger side of Bryant’s car in the southbound lanes, authorities said. Vickers was in the passenger seat.

Bryant and Shurley, who was ejected from the vehicle, both suffered critical injuries, police said. The driver of the Fiesta, Ashantee Briana Ponder, was also taken to an Atlanta hospital. Authorities have not released updated conditions of the other victims.
