Two drivers accused of firing shots in separate acts of interstate road rage have been arrested, according to DeKalb County police.

The DeKalb shootings are among approximately 40 on metro Atlanta roads this year. At least 13 people have been killed from being shot while traveling in vehicles, according to various law enforcement agencies. But there have been only a handful of arrests.

According to police, Damon Fleming, 22, fired shots at a mother and her young daughter on May 28. The woman, whose name was not released, mistakenly cut off Fleming while driving on I-20, police said. Fleming was driving a yellow and black Dodge Charger during the incident, investigators said.

The shooting was reported in the eastbound lanes near the Wesley Chapel Road exit. A spokeswoman for DeKalb police said no injuries were reported. But photos showed a van with a blown-out back windshield.

Fleming, 22, was arrested on June 14 and charged with aggravated assault and cruelty to children. The Covington man was being held without bond Thursday at the DeKalb jail, booking records showed.
