That's when dash cam video from another police cruiser caught video of other officers hitting him for about ten seconds as he lay in the dirt.  After being convicted of attempted murder, Warren decided to sue the Birmingham, Alabama cops involved.

Reuters reports the suit was settled last week with Warren being awarded $1,000 and his attorneys raking in a total of $459,000.

AL.com reports the settlement was given the nod "to save taxpayer dollars."  Attorneys explain Warren got $1,000 because the city successfully proved his injuries came from the accident and not the actions of the officers.

The two sides have agreed to no appeals after the settlement.
