Dashcam video shows N.C. mayor dancing during sobriety test
Dashcam video shows the mayor of Waxhaw, N.C., giggling and dancing during a field sobriety test. Authorities released the video Wednesday afternoon after Daune Gardner pleaded guilty to drunken driving.
The video shows Gardner's arrest in June 2013 after police said she registered a 0.18 percent blood alcohol level on the Breathalyzer.
Police said she smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech.
Gardner will not face any jail time and is on probation for one year.
Town commissioners voted last month to punish Gardner for using taxpayer money for alcohol and other unauthorized purchases. She is prohibited from going on out-of-town trips until she repays the money.
