South metro commuters heading toward Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on I-85 North on Tuesday morning were met with a slow-moving backup at the I-285 interchange after a crash closed all lanes for hours.

The wreck was reported shortly before 4 a.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. Traffic began recovering just before 8 a.m. when lanes were reopened.

According to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center, a vehicle hit a barrier under a bridge, which now requires an inspection.

It is not clear if any injuries have been reported, as police have not returned requests for information.
