Already charged in a deadly shooting in Gwinnett County, a 19-year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with the incident, police said.

Nickolas Kaymon Young was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies at a residence off Collins Hill Road, Gwinnett police Cpl. Michele Pihera said.

Young is accused of shooting Vitali Mialik, 34, in the parking lot of a gas station in the Norcross area Feb. 3, police said.

Two men got into an argument with Mialik in the parking lot after they left the store, Cpl. Frederick Saldana said. The argument escalated, and Young got an assault rifle from an SUV and shot Mialik before driving away, Saldana said.

Young was caught on surveillance cameras, but the other man was not recorded.

Mialik had lived in Suwanee for nine years and was trying to earn enough money to bring his wife and two children from Belarus to the United States, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“It is our hope that the family of Vitali Mialik can rest a little easier knowing that this murder suspect has been captured,” Pihera said. “Our thoughts are with them as they go through their grieving process.”
