Authorities in Rome are seeking a 22-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting Friday morning.

Michael David Yates, described as armed and dangerous, is wanted after a 38-year-old man was found on East 19th Street with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest, police Lt. Joe Costolnick said.

The victim is Scotty Dale Graham, the Rome News-Tribune reported.

Yates has a large amount of tattoos on his body, Costolnick said. He left the scene in a truck, which he crashed nearby, then ran away. Yates was last seen running from the area of Dean Avenue and East 14th Street.

The GBI will perform an autopsy on the victim because officials are not sure how many times he was shot, the newspaper reported.

Anyone with information should call 911 or police at 706-238-5111.
