Smyrna police arrested a man Wednesday who allegedly led them on a high-speed chase near SunTrust Park two days earlier, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Police said a neighbor alerted them about Kevin Chadwick’s suspicious behavior, which included attempts to solicit money. The 53-year-old left an apartment complex before officers could question him and led police through the busy area.

The chase began near Chadwick’s home off Atlanta Road and continued onto Spring Road, where the suspect drove nearly 70 mph.

Police called off the chase after it became too dangerous to chase Chadwick through traffic before the Braves’ game June 10 against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Details of his arrest June 12 were not released.

Chadwick is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.
