Henry County police on Tuesday released pictures of a person of interest in a weekend shooting that critically injured a 16-year-old girl.
Richard Andrew Dickerson, 20, is wanted in connection with the incident, which occurred about 11 p.m. Saturday along North Henry Boulevard. He is considered armed and dangerous, Henry police Capt. Joey Smith said Tuesday.
The teen was shot in the back after a fight broke out at a pool party attended by more than 200 teenagers, police said. More than 70 shell casings were found at the scene of the shooting and there were at least five bullet holes in a car, police told Channel 2 Action News.
“She is still listed as critical, but her injuries have been determined to be non-life-threatening,” Sgt. Danny Gibbs said.
Police already have in custody a man they believe may be involved in the shooting. Kordion Cousins, 19, was arrested the night of the shooting on an outstanding warrant. Details about that warrant were not released.
“At this time,” Gibbs said, “he remains a suspect in this case and has not been ruled out.”
Dickerson, the person of interest, is 6-foot-2, weighs 165 pounds and has brown eyes, police said.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Henry police at 770-288-7581.
