Police in Athens arrested a man they say sent naked photos to preteens he met at a motel.

Alfonso Hernandez Soto, 32, of Cumming, was taken into custody at the motel April 2 after someone blocked his car in to keep him from leaving, Athens-Clarke County police spokesman Lt. John Radford confirmed to AJC.com.

Police were called to the motel on Atlanta Highway after one of the preteens’ family members reported the alleged child molestation.

The family member told investigators the children, whose exact ages were not released, were living in the motel. Hernandez Soto had tried to befriend them through social media, had sent nude pictures and visited the motel, Radford said.

Hernandez Soto was confronted when he went to the motel again and prevented from leaving until police arrived, according to Radford.

He is charged with felony child molestation. Hernandez Soto was booked into the Clarke County Jail and released Tuesday on a $7,5000 bond.
