Hall County authorities Friday identified the couple found dead after an apparent murder-suicide Thursday morning as Hank Tanner, 60, and his 54-year-old wife, Ginger Tanner.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 4000 block of Wynwood Drive around 10 a.m. in response to a report that two people had died, according to Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks.

The Tanner’s were found dead from gunshot wounds, Wilbanks said in an emailed statement.

“The investigation indicates that Hank Tanner was the shooter,” Wilbanks said Friday.

“The initial 911 call was placed by a neighbor, who went to the residence to check on the occupants at the request of a family member,” he said. “The initial investigation indicates that the incident is domestic related and appears to be a murder-suicide.”
