Two men were arrested Thursday after a shooting in Johns Creek led to SWAT officers being deployed in Alpharetta.

About 10 a.m., a man fired several shots at a house on Old Woodland Entry, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“We pretty quickly identified who our suspect was from some earlier interaction between him and this family on Old Woodland Entry over some debts that he claimed that they owed him,” Johns Creek police Capt. Chris Byers told Channel 2.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Brandon Jones, ran from the scene and into an Alpharetta neighborhood, according to the station.

Alpharetta police SWAT officers were deployed, and Jones surrendered shortly thereafter, Channel 2 reported. He was charged with aggravated assault.

A man who accompanied Jones, who was not identified, also will be charged.

Easton Clark, who lived in the house that was fired on, said he has known Jones since they were kids, Channel 2 reported. He said he recently borrowed $30 from Jones.

“It was over $30,” Clark said.

Clark’s mother, Cynthia, was hit by broken glass from the gunshots, the station reported.
