Update: Marietta man sentenced to life in prison in wife's death

The husband of a 66-year-old woman found dead in her Marietta home turned himself in Tuesday evening, Cobb County police said.

Donny Eaton, 64, of Marietta, faces charges of aggravated assault and murder, Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

Roxanne Eaton was found earlier Tuesday during a welfare check, Pierce said. A call came in to police from the Floyd County Emergency Communications Center.

“The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office has not confirmed the manner and cause of death,” Pierce said.
