Bond denied for Atlanta airport contractor accused of raping employee in storage room
An Atlanta airport contract employee was arrested after a subordinate accused him of sexually assaulting her during her shift.
Eddie Sanders, 47, of Stone Mountain, was taken into custody at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on a charge of rape after the employee notified Atlanta police about the alleged attack early Tuesday morning.
Sanders is a supervisor with contracted cleaning company ABM.
“The victim stated that while working, her supervisor took her into a storage room and had sex with her against her will,” police spokesman Officer Jarius Daugherty told AJC.com.
The incident is still under investigation.
ABM spokeswoman Jennifer Miller said the company was “fully cooperating with authorities in their investigation of this alleged incident” and “has no tolerance for any type of assault in the workplace.”
She said Sanders, who appeared in court Wednesday morning, was suspended.
During his first court appearance, a judge denied Sanders bond.
He is being held at the Clayton County Jail.
