An Arizona couple broke into a bar after hours and helped themselves to $89 worth of alcohol, police said.
Police in Tempe said James Adams, 23, and Melissa Elizabeth Schimmel, 28, broke into the Blasted Barley on March 4, KNXV reported.
Police said they responded to an alarm at the Tempe bar and saw a man placing items by the front door, the television station reported. When Adams refused to come out of the building, a police dog was sent into the building, KNXV reported.
The animal bit Adams, who was detained by police, the television station reported.
Police said they found empty bottles of alcohol in Adams' backpack, worth $89, KNXV reported. According to police, Adams said he drank two shots and opened a tab but could not find a server to pay the bill.
Police also found Schimmel inside the bar and arrested her, the television station reported.
Schimmel and Adams have been charged with burglary.
