A Cobb County mother allegedly under the influence of drugs ran her SUV off the road and wrecked it while her toddler was inside, according to police.

Mandee Roper White, 32, of a Powder Springs address, was arrested after the Wednesday night wreck on Lost Mountain Road in west Cobb, according to an arrest warrant obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Investigators believe White was under the influence of hydrocodone and Soma, both controlled substances that she was not legally prescribed, while driving a 2005 Acura MDX with her 2-year-old son aboard, according to police.

“Said accused did leave her lane of travel, crashing into a ditch off the right shoulder of the roadway,” the warrant states. “Accused lost control of her vehicle, driving into a ditch and totalling her vehicle.”

Neither White nor her son were seriously injured.

Investigators located hydrocodone pills inside a prescription bottle for thyroid medication and numerous other pills wrapped in plastic in White’s pocket, according to the warrant.

White was arrested and booked into the Cobb County jail on four felony counts of drug possession, in addition to misdemeanor charges of DUI, child endangerment and failure to maintain lane, booking records show. She was released the following night on her own recognizance, according to jail records.

White, who allegedly told officers at the scene she had suffered from a long-time drug addiction, has numerous arrests and convictions on drug-related charges, records show.
