A man is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault, after an argument led to gunfire that injured his ex-girlfriend Tuesday in Clayton County, authorities said.

Officers responded to a person shot at an apartment complex on Summerwind Drive in Jonesboro around 3:25 p.m., Clayton County police said in a Facebook post.

Before they arrived at the residence, officers were advised that 26-year-old Deandre Deshawn Robinson was involved in the incident, according to the post. Police identified and arrested him as he was leaving the scene.

During an investigation, officers said they learned that Robinson went to his ex-girlfriend’s house while her new boyfriend was there. A fight broke out between Robinson and the man, leading to gunfire. The woman was shot multiple times, police said. She was taken to a hospital, but her condition hasn’t been released.

Robinson was booked into the Clayton County jail and charged with second-degree criminal damage, first-degree home invasion, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, battery and possession of marijuana, online jail records show.

Authorities haven’t said if the woman’s boyfriend will also be charged.
