A suspect who allegedly shot and killed two people Monday morning in a Lebanon, Tennessee, subdivision was found dead in his vehicle, according to the Lebanon Police Department.

The suspect was identified as Shaun R. Varsos, 36, of Nashville. Police said he drove a 2020 gray Nissan Pathfinder, with Florida license plate, AFGV 69.

Two women were killed in an exchange of gunfire with the suspect, FoxNashville reported, citing police. The women have not been identified.

The suspect was found dead in a vehicle in Bellevue, the Tennessean reported, citing Metro Nashville Police Department spokesman Don Aaron said. Varsos died from what police think was a self-inflicted gunshot wound near his home on the side of Harpeth Knoll Road in Bellevue.

Police believe Varsos was shot by one of the victims before he fled the shooting scene in Lebanon.

Earlier, Lebanon police urged residents to shelter in place after the suspect was in the StoneBridge subdivision.

All lockdowns for schools in Nashville were lifted after the gunman was found dead, according to a tweet from Metro Schools.
